Let me start with a couple of disclaimers regarding the title of my blog. First, Michael and I may or may not travel “around the world” per se, but it’s a distinct possibility. You see, Singapore is just about exactly on the opposite side of the globe from Houston, TX. You can get there by (1) flying east and making a stop in Western Europe or Moscow, or (2) flying west and making a stop in Hong Kong or Tokyo (or somewhere else in the eastern part of Asia). We opted for a stop in Amsterdam. In order to really fly “around the world” we’ll need to make a return trip heading east from Singapore. I’ll keep you posted.
Next, Michael’s assignment overseas will be approximately a year and a half but will likely not last exactly 548 days. The 548 days title is going to stick however, for cadence’s sake. It sounds much better than “Around the world (or maybe not) in approximately one and one half years”.
Ok, I’m glad we’ve cleared that up. I’ve never been a very good liar.
